Hello, I know this thread is pretty old and you seemed to settle on the tire pressure being the main cause, however I was wondering if you still felt the same way. I have a V70 and have always hated feeling like I was throwing my alignment out every time I hit a bump. The loud boom in the front end just never seemed acceptable to me, I can't believe it left the factory that way. I replaced the struts as soon as I got it just before 100k, I thought at the time that they were bad and replacing the struts would take care of it but was disappointed to when I took it for a spin right after I replaced them. I don't remember what I put back in, I believe Sachs. But I too have been following the Volvo recommended pressure at 35/41 I believe (I don't have it memorized, I open the gas door when I need to). I'm near 175k now and have replaced almost the whole front end over time and still the loud boom.

Thanks.

Niekko if you can itemise what exactly you've replaced other than shock absorbers this may be helpful.

Did you replace the spring seats with genuine Volvo or aftermarket?
Also as you've posted on a thread where the OP ( original poster) has a vehicle with lowered springs is this also the case with yours?

Giving us more information will help us to assist you.

Also, what size tires are you running? What model tires?

35/41 seems very high to me.

35/41 would be fine with 70 series tires!! I'm almost certain you'd be running 60 series tires or less.

Where did you read 41 for rears? Perhaps fully laden while towing. For a FWD vehicle with weight distribution favouring front that is ridiculously high. Even 35 at the front can be uncomfortable depending on tire profile.
