850 Headliner trim clip part number?

Post by northernlights »

I am knee-deep in a headliner replacement project for my 94 850, and all of the trim has not survived the experience! Specifically, there few clips on the roof rail are a little worse for wear.

Does anyone know the part number for these mysterious yellow clips? They do not want to come out without breaking, and I hate to break one without having a replacement source. It looks like there are two styles.

These are the only thing that looks correct, part number 7 in the diagram.

Your dealer may or may not be able to get them anymore.

Thanks Lee, that looks like a good part number. It comes up on volvopartswebstore.com as good for 850's, S70's and V70's through 2000, so I'll give it a shot for sure.

I'm reviving this...

I tried to get these clips at the local volvo dealer, but they said that these are no longer available from Volvo. Also, online searches were not fruitful...
Does anyone know if these are still available somewhere or an alternative?

btw, 9 years later these little sh*ts are still crumbling away.
I tried reforming them with epoxy, but this is too inflexible and inserting the male end just breaks it. Plastic-welded one but also just broke again.
Has anyone tried to 3d print those? I imagine this would not be easy.

I have 2 alternatives in my mind, either bend something similar out of thin steel or glue magnets to the trim and the clip which sounds way easier. Or just give up and literally screw it
