hello everyone,
I've got the occasional arrow and 3rd gear start issue which goes away after I restart the car.
got a PNP from a low mileage 2000 S70 to replace my existing one (1995)
They were different!
this specific 2000 S70 PNP was a tiny bit thinner, and it physically interfered with one of the metal oil cooler lines. It also had an extra pin which the 95 did not. The housing was also riveted together (the 95 was held together by phillips screws)
If you are shopping for a (used) PNP, take note of the physical shape of it.. although it may bolt in, there is a protrusion that may prevent you from adjusting it as it rubs on the metal oil cooler line.
will probably just order a new one next time.
is the PNP issue more apparent in hotter or colder weather? I read somewhere the issue is exaggerated in either hot/cold weather, but cannot recall which one ...
2000 vs 1995 PNP

The grease gets thicker as it gets colder and it is the dead of winter when my PNP problems rear their ugly head the worst. That reminds me, I have a rebuild kit in the parts box on my desk that I bought for the Platinum. While it is down for a few days with the AC evaporator swap it is a ducky time to fix the PNP, before it gets cold.
