Engine codes from 94 850 Turbo, 147k
Re: Engine codes from 94 850 Turbo, 147k
A big thanks to everyone who took the time to share a thought or an idea. This information may have helped me change my mind on selling it. I will definitely get a compression test done at another shop and talk to a mechanic friend of mine who may be able to help guide me in doing a lot of the work. When the mechanic shot out $1200-$2000 I about choked and got very anxious at the thought and figured I may need to let it go. Being a Mopar guy at heart and having owned to Plymouth Dusters, I understand old cars are an expensive hobby. Only being a Volvo owner for two yrs., I have not taken the time to learn about my car as I should have. This information will be a great help. Anyway, thanks again. Can't wait to get that second opinion.
From what some of you have informed on above I am thinking it is the head gasket after all. I was driving to work this morning when the car started running really rough, I pulled over and put it in park. There were puffs of blue smoke coming from the tail pipe. I limped it home and parked it. I plan on using some of the repair information on this site to guide me and buddy as we get into. It won't happen right away but I am going to start ordering parts. Any opinions on what else I should since I will have top half apart? I am thinking time belt, water pump, PCV etc.

Running rough and spewing smoke when doing so is no indication of a need for a headgasket.
First step is resolving P0326, front knock sensor signal. This code puts your car in a limp mode, retarding ignition timing and richening fuel mixtures.
Next step is the usual ignition tuneup, cap/plugs/rotor/wires.. At least the plugs..
Then to see if the misfire codes come back.
