Cap & rotor. Noticed a small camshaft seal leak there, only 46K miles after putting a new seal in when I did the valve stem seals. Dang it. Plus I tore a plug wire distributor cap boot and lost a torx socket in the nether regions. Sometimes you feel like a nut.

The rear of the car with the old "normal" spoiler still fitted:

A draw wire installed to drag the spoiler brake light wiring through the tailgate which shows the routing of the cable:

Finally it is fitted and working:

A rare part that I had purchased and shipped from a breakers yard in Sweden, cost including shipping to the UK was £90 about $145 then I had to spray it which took a few days prior to it going on the car, I have been after one of these for a couple of years as the rear spoiler with integral brake light on the phase one V70 is a very rare accessory in the UK I have only ever seen one other - Mike

That spoiler looks fancy.
Yesterday, I went to the best U-Pick in Los Angeles.
After searching and searching, I found an 80% still there 99 S70 with a reasonable looking interior, so I went to work. New speakers, cup holders, pax front latch assembly, a few other odds and ends.
All for $36.

Heater core, coolant expansion tank, and driver-side sun visor.
I've done heater cores before on other makes, and this is one of those dread jobs that ordinarily strikes fear into one's heart, but on this car... holy cow that was easy. And cheap! Heater core $33.33 delivered, does not leak. Holy wow. The hardest part of the job was removing the plastic shroud under the motor to access the coolant drain plug, and that wasn't even really hard.
Love this car.

Not all this weekend, but so far this summer.
Flush coolant- replaced radiator hoses, expansion tank hoses, upper turbo hose. Still to do - lower turbo hose and heater hoses.
Cap and Rotor- plugs were fine, wires are from 8/2011 so left those.
Drivers axle/cv & Axle seal- from EuroParts. Made in China unit so will monitor.
Replacement seats from '99 70 series. All electrics work. No SIPS
PCV replacement w/ 5/8" heater hose. Some vacuum lines replaced.
Tranny Drain and Fill x 1 - should do it a couple of more times as fluid was dirty/brown. Then attempt flush after several drain and fills.
Replaced starter with used unit while doing PCV.
Power steering fluid flush with Valvoline High Mileage Auto Transmission Stop Leak.

Nice avatar photo Karl.
The '93 tail lights are not too bad in my opinion. I realize you have a '97, but cool choice of depiction.
It sounds like you are doing all the good things.

Today I removed both axles to replace inner and outer CV boots. Went quite smoothly, but the axle nut was a mission to undo! Still, I haven't found anything yet that won't eventually yield to my Bluepoint rattle gun!! Axles are in my bench vise awaiting surgery tomorrow.

Today I checked my bevel gear and rear differential fluids for colour and level; both came out full and clean at 190,000KM on original fluids. I plan on changing both of these fluids in the very near future.
