2008 V50 Back stationwagon hatch door won't open

Post by Hultgren »

I purchased this car used in January. It didn't come with an owner's manual. The problem with back hatch door to the wagon started when it would not close and latch shut. I finally used a screw driver to get the latch to accept the lock. The next day however, the back hatch door would not open or respond to the remote open button. The other doors do open by the remote. Since there is no key for the back hatch door, how do I get it open?

if the issue is because of broken wires (which is common issue) you can remove plastic cover from back hatch door and get to the lock socket. You need to supply power via direct battery connection or from some external 12v power supply.
1. wire is +
2. wire is ground (-)
Before doing this you can check fuse 22 on the CEM module.

For additional info you can use wiring diagrams for your car V50 2008
If you have questions about Volvo firmware ask me. I may know an answer :)

The wiring behind the plastic panel appears solidly connected. Where is the fuse box located?

Also, you can get a PDF owner's manual on the web. (But it won't tell you how to do this!)
