2000 V70 XC Car sat for two years and wont start after pcv

My car has been in my garage for over a year and I finally tended to it this week replacing all the main vacuum lines, cleaning the etm throttle opening, replacing the pcv canister, and tidying up some of the rotted wire covers. Put everything back together and it wont start, turns over until it 'thuds/thunks' then stops then if you hold the key it tries to turn again about the same interval before stopping. It has fuel pressure, checked plugs and they are black and wet, not getting any codes either.

Could it be the etm or spark or maybe a vacuum line or wire out of sequence? Could it have to do with sitting so long without use?

I installed a rebuilt head and rebuilt the turbocharger on my 98 S70 and that thing fired up the first turn!

The spark sequence is pretty much set with the harness to the coil packs but if you replaced the split loom to the coil connectors it is easy to get some of them reversed.

Do you have any fresh gas to top it off with? Two year old gas tends to not even resemble gasoline anymore and some of the reformulated cocktails that the EPA mandates for different regions are worse about shelf life than others.

Thanks Lee I'll get some fresh gas and verify my plug wiring colors using a previous post of yours.

What makes the starter stop and then restart while you hold the key over and the engine is not starting?

Plug wires were the problem with starting, still running rough with no low power and rough idle. Going to replace plugs and verify injector wires and vacuum hoses.

The heat made it tough to tell 3 and 4 colors got the wires right and with new plugs running smooth as ever!
