volvo on call

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

volvo on call

Post by elzear »

I leased a 2003 S-80 T-6 in December 2002. Even though I did not request it the car came equiped with a telephone and the new Volvo on call system. The first year of on call is complmentary. My free subscription expired a couple of weeks ago. Now every time I start the car I get a message on the dash board that the on call is disabled. I have to push the button on thr directional stem to turn the message off every time I start the car. It is beginning to drive me nuts. I took the car to the dealer to have him turn the message off. But lo and behold the only way to turn the message off is to resucribe to the on call service at a cost of over $200.00 a year. I called Volvos 800 number and they told me the same thing. I expressed my displeasure to the representative on the phone but he told me there is nothing to be done but resubscribe. I told him this is highway robbery but he did not seem to care. i am now faced with either staring at this message for the next two years every time I start the car or sending them the $200.00+ per year. Any suggestions

Just cruising the old posts and came across this one. Thought it was kind of trivial in comparison to some of the real world failures these cars were experiencing in their later years. Wonder how angry this guy became when his ETM, transmission and just about every computer in the car caused a CEL afew months later :)

They quit the on-call several years ago, even before your expired.
I believe there was a bulletin- Volvo will disconnect everything and reset the message center for you.
Give your nearest Volvo dealer a call.

Since this is for an '06 S80 (not '92-00 cars), I'm moving this to the correct forum.
