95 volvo 850t PCV& boost loss

i own a 95 850 turbo has 173 k on car with only 90 k on motor

needs the pcv to be done wasnt sure if anyone has a step by step guide on how to do it.
also i heard there was a mod for the pcv
if anyone knows how to do this would be great "
does the mod work better or should i go on IPD and purhase the kit for the pcv ??

next problem
when i floor my car ill go up to 13 lbs of boost and then when i hit about 40 it just drops to about
8 lbs and you can feel it drop while your driving then when you start gai ing spped boost goes back to normal
then at about 60 it drops again and does the same thig to me
numerous of my friend mechanics say its the
waste gate actuator i guess its called and
said i should try putting a after market boost controller in it to see if that helps
my question is
would the pcv be affecting my boost ?
and would it be my waste gate actuator ?
and if the boost controller would actually help solve the problem

also forgot to add that
when i bought the car i have all the service records from volvo dealer in texas where car came from everything was done timely

when i biught the car i was gettig around 22-24 mpg city
now im getting roughly 16.5 on a good day
i know i have a gas leak somewhere bevause if my var sits for a couple hours in the sun
you go in it and it has a smell of gas .
also if you look under the car where thw tank is located there are 2 hard lines
well there is residue on the tank looks like its coming from those lines vut have no clue what they are or if its a gasket etc.
can post pics if anyone thinks they would be able to help me .
also i know im leaking gas due to the fact ill have 6 gallaons of gas parj my car while im at work n wont drive it and then ill go to leave and im on 2 gallaons of gas .
not sure whats going on but def need some help

not sure if i need to drop thw tank and see or what .

Whoa...that's a serious leak! Post some pictures. The gas lines run under the passenger side of the car, and then up over the passenger side of the engine to the fuel rail..

Your turbo control valve might be going bad (the TCV). It's attached to the airbox by two t25 screws, and has 3 vacuum lines connected to it. IPD sells a heavy duty aftermarket gauge. It's an easy fix. Either that, or you have a boost leak somewhere. Check all your air hoses, especially down near the turbo. The PCV won't affect boost, as far as I know, but heavy boost will add to the internal pressure that the PCV is supposed to relieve, and if it's gunked up or clogged will cause oil seal blowouts...So go ahead and do the PCV. Better safe than sorry, and if it wasn't done before now, it really should. Does your dipstick smoke? Does oil leak from the car?

At 4 gallons someone would have called the Fire Department. My neighbor had an old VW Bus and his gas cap was leaking. He knew it but the rest of neighbors did not. He had filled the tank full which he usually does not and left the van parked half on and half off the curb. Long story short the Fire Department came out and he finally steps out to see what is happening not knowing it was due to his fuel leak. No trances of it anywhere as it just a drip but fill the air.

Should really figure that one out first before it causes a major problem for yourself or someone near by if you are leaking 4 gallons in a day. If should be all over the place.

yes it does smoke this is my third volvo so i do know a decent amount but wasnt sure if any one knew about the pcv mod with heater hose .
and other things .
wasnt sure if i should order from ipd or do the mod .
it leaks oil in the most random places .
and smokes from the dipstick .

but doing the pcv in the next couple days just wasmt sure what way i should go .
and the gas leak ill take pics and post pics tonight

Go with the heater hose (or 5/8 fuel hose).

That trick really stopped a car with a COMPLETELY CLEAR PCV system that was smoking like a storm from smoking anymore.

FIRST, fix the gasoline leak before the fire department puts out the fire and you have a melted PCV system lying on the pavement. The fuel pump is accessed by removing the carpet in the trunk and taking off the 10mm nuts on the round access plate close to the center of the car and very close to the rear seat back. You might want to fold both seatbacks forward for better access.

Yes, take pictures.

Rather than staring at the speedometer, stare at the tach when you have the pedal floored. If the boost cuts out near the redline, then your blowoff valve is saving you from over boost. If the boost cuts out too early, then repair the blowoff valve.

and when my car sits its usually for a good 8-9 hours

also it cuts out before i hit redline and thats when i start loosing boost its not even close to red line usually cuts out around 3-4 000 rpm
