2005 XC90 Heater Not working - Not warming up

Post by ncspring »

I changed the oil trap on my 2005 XC90 and got everything back together. When I took it apart I had to remove the thermostat to get at one of the bolts. Volvo does not sell the thermostat housing gasket so I made one. Now the car runs great, but does not blow hot air and the temperature gauge does not move off of cold. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

Is coolant leaking out of the t-stat housing? Is the temperature needle not getting up to normal range?

Nothing is leaking around the thermostat housing or anywhere I can see. The temperature needle does not move off of cold even after running for 15 - 20 minutes. Wondering if there is air in the system.

Broken t-stat or you re-installed it incorrectly.
