2002 S80 T6 where is the boost?

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

2002 S80 T6 where is the boost?

Post by Rexmacmillion »

Hello guys. I have an issue, lol, Saturday I picked up a 2002 S80 T6. Love the car. Just recently lost my 95 850 to a total loss. So I Replaced here with the S80. The car ran amazing for the first 2 days. Boosted nicely. Monday morning I decided to do some general maint. checking hoses and vacuums. Found one vacuum line off of the left (drivers) side wastegate/actuator. Put it back on. now i have what feels like Minimal if not no boost at all? What gives?? if you disconnect that vacuum she boosts great. probable too much. so i put the line back on. WHAT SHOULD I CHECK OR RELACE to get my boost back. TCV? any answers will be greatly appreciated. I am fully aware the cost involved in owning and maintaining these cars.

Has it thrown any codes yet? It should have thrown one for low boost.

Before you replace anything, make sure all the vacuum hoses are routed correctly. Sounds like they might not be. Make sure the hose on the top of the twin pipe plastic pipe doesnt have a clear path, through the TCV to the metal actuator pipe at the back of the block. If its hooked up like this, the pressure in the pipe will act directly on the wastegate actuators and you'll never see more than 4.5psi. It'll pull "OK" to about 3500 then fall off a cliff.

If you are sure that the vacuum pipes are 100% correctly, then yes I would look at TCV next. Its the same unit as your 850 I believe.
