1999 S80 Car won't start Fuse 17 keeps blowing

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

1999 S80 Car won't start Fuse 17 keeps blowing

Post by HussD »

So my problem just started, the car was running before I was did a service on my S80 T6. Change the plugs, air filter, cabin filter, fuel filter and oil change. Everything reconnected properly and went to start the car, car cranks but won't start. Checked the fuses under the hood ad saw number 17 is blown, swapped it out and it blew just as I turned the ignition on without cranking. thought it may be the coils so disconnected the coils and it still blows without them connected. I figure I may have a dead short but not sure where to look. Does anyone know what this fuse 17 is for. Your help would be appreciated.

Fuse 17 is the power feed to the coils, the green/white wire. You most likely pinched the wire under a coil bolt.
