1998 GLT V70 Hard start below 30deg/studders SOLVED

Post by stephansvolvo »

1) Just recently the temp has dropped to below 30 degrees at night. Hard to start in the morning. Once it starts, placed in gear and the accelartator pushed the car studders. Once up to temp it runs fine.
Battery seems to have good charge. Help on this one?

2) The check engine light is on. The other night I accelarated and the check engine light started to flash. What might be causing this?

Thanks all

Stephan

You need to have the codes read. That will likely tell you what the problem is.

Possibly a bad mass airflow sensor, but read the codes to be sure. An auto parts store will do this for free - write down the code NUMBERS please (we don't care about the description the scanner gives) and bring them back.

I replaced the battery yesterday and still wouldnt start this morning. -10 degrees!!!!
I purchased the sensor. Is this hard to put in? Are there any connections through this forum that videos the replacement?

Thanks
