1999 S80 T6 trunk drain hose
1999 S80 T6 trunk drain hose
On the bottom of the trunk there is a drain plug with a small hose attached to a 90 degree angle connector. What does this hose connect to? I can't seem to find anything unless its behind the battery or something. There is also a bit of water in the trunk, could this be from the disconnected hose? Thanks.

Do you have a factory sunroof?
If so it may possibly be related to the rear sunroof drain hoses that run in the 'C' pillars and down behind the wheel arches.
The right angle extrusions on drain hoses get blocked up causing leaks inside the car, especially the front ones. (i.e. wet carpets)

Did somebody replace your battery lately? If yes he must forgot to insert that hose back to the battery.
If no , that hose must be fall off from your battery ,re insert it.Because your battery have the breather hole. You said there is some water nearby ,do not touch that water it might be the acid leaked from the battery.Use spray bottle delude water with baking soda and spray on that water if it bobble up ,yes it is acid,if not ,just wipe it off.Hope it helps...

Yes this is a battery vent hose, because the battery is in the trunk, Volvo didn't want hydrogen gas to build up in the trunk due to normal charge / discharge cycles. If it were in the engine compartment, it wouldn't matter. Sop up the water with a towel you wont' get in trouble for using, throw down some baking soda for good measure and vacuum it up next week. Re-attach the hose to the small fitting on the right side of the battery near the negative terminal. Make sure to put all the covers, clamps, bolts back so your battery isn't clunking around.
