2005 S60R General question, purchasing

Post by speedyt5 »

Hello,
I currently am the highest bidder on this S60R.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Volvo-S60-R-200 ... ars_Trucks

I am just wondering, if anyone has any insight, or their thoughts on this car. I am trying to contact the owner to have it inspected at an independent shop. But for around 11k I thought it was pretty good, he says no known mechanical problems, but at the same time he has only had it for 2 months. I have not met the reserve so I am not too worried if I win or lose, as my s70t5 is my daily driver anyways. Just looking for input. Thanks!

"R-Type's in this condition with (tan leather) are very rare".

It's not an R-Type, but rather an S60 R, but that by itself isn't indicative.
Tan leather isn't rare, it's the base color AFAIK, of three levels, but that by itself isn't indicative.
He only owned it two months, but that by itself isn't indicative.

I dunno. Ten grand+ is a lot of money to be playing with on eBay IMHO.

Yeah I know the typical wordage used by people who aren't knowledgable in Volvo's. Thanks for your input. If it had the Atacama leather it might be a little more "rare".

That's one of the cleanest engines I've seen. It does appear to be bone stock. Might be worth calling the local dealer in lieu of an inspection, based on the 75k service. It does have most of the OEM sport kit (no winglets, optional), which is highly sought after.
