Hello Folks,
I've an S70T5, 1997-absolutely faultless until recently. It's minor problem but I'm not sure if it's something I need to have looked at. When I start the car lately, the traction control is turning itself off-doesn't happen every time-maybe 50% of the time. Any one seen this before-should I be concerned?
Thanks.

If you mean the ABS/tracs light is on, yes. They all go bad a matter of time.
This is the way it starts, light on then off, then on until finally it just stays on.
You said a 97, that means you're in Europe?
Here you can have them rebuilt (here, US) for as little as $100, don't know who, if anyone over there, rebuilds them

Victor Rocha who rebuilds them here (US) will take shipment from anywhere in the world. Folks from Japan are very happy with his service and price. Here is his site: http://home.earthlink.net/~vicrocha/

Yeah it's a European car and it's the TRACS light that stays on. So is this a sensor problem-what part is it I need to get repaired do you think?
Thanks.

It is a curious difference between the European spec cars and the US spec cars that I - in the US - don't have Tracs unless I tell it to turn on. It doesn't do much anyway. I guess it is the opposite in "Yurrup".

I would think that a bad sensor would cause an ABS problem as well as a Tracs problem but that is a guess. Have you dumped the ABS codes out of the brain?

No I haven't dumped any codes-this happened a few months back and went away for a while. To be honest if it is just the tratction control then I'm not really bothered, because even when it's on it's pretty easy to get wheelspin. I suppose one thing to note is that it never turns itself off when driving.
