2003 S80 Clock Keeps Running & Running

Hope someone can give some suggestions, last summer the clock on my S80 kept running and running continually, sometimes it would continue for hours and sometimes it would settle down when I turned the setting dial. I have been out of town for several months and the person who was starting the car for us said the battery is now dead; could there have been a drain on the battery if the clock ran continually? and is there anyway of disconnecting the clock?

The clock you see is just the slave display of the master control unit for the car, The CEM. Upgrading the CEM may remedy the issue or it may need a new CEM. If the CEM has an issue it can turn on some systems in the car and drain battery while it is parked.
