Hi everyone, I need some help please. A few days ago I dropped the oil pan due to clogged passageway from the oil trap. It was 100% blocked and after days of soaking it with all different kinds of solvents I was not able to clear it so I had no choice but to drop the pan. I replaced all the o-rings with new ones from FCP, and the one from the pickup tube with one from my Volvo dealer. The tube looked fine so I didn't replace it. The screen was pretty clean so I just sprayed some carb cleaner.
I filled up with GC 0W30 and used a Volvo oil filter.
When I went to start the car I first cranked it a couple of times without letting it start to build up some oil pressure. I then started it and it was loud so I shut it off. I tried a second time and got louder. Sounded like lifters. I have the feeling not enough oil is getting pumped.
I went ahead and dropped the pan again to inspect. Everything looked fine except the two o-rings that go on the block came out with the pan so it is hard to tell if they were seated properly when I attached the pan or not. I had used Vaseline to hold them in place.
The pickup tube had some oil in it too which tells me some pumping must be happening.
I pulled all the plugs and looked down the pistons. Everything looks normal.
I'll put it back together and double check the o-rings stay on the block.
I am planning to crank the engine without plugs and fuel pump fuse removed so I can build some oil pressure first.
Am I missing something? Thank you.

All set. I put it back together, cranked the engine several times for a few seconds without spark plugs, coils and fuel. Then tried with everything in place and no loud noises at all. I am not exactly sure what happened. Maybe the o-ring/s was not seated properly, or maybe I over-reacted to the loud noises. Car is running great now. We'll see if mpg and oil consumption improve.
