2007 V70 Engine performance reduced
Thought I would share this with everyone. We had serious cold here last week, and the car sat outside for 9 hrs. I started it (not plugged in) and it fired up ok, but then starred surging and this engine performance message came on. No cel light on though, so I let it warm up 5mins. or so and tried to move but it didn't want to surging like that. Gave it another 5 mins to warm, shut engine off, waited 30 seconds and started again, message gone, all normal, drove 60 kms. home with no issues. Same cold overnight but in garage started and drove to work normally, then did a repeat performance with same results as previous day. Anyone with comments regarding this? I have never seen this message before. Something here obviously doesn't like extreme cold, possibly throttle position sensor?

Clean the throttle bore and blade edges. If the normal build up there restricts throttle then the throttle actuation software detects poor response and goes into limp mode. When you restarted it and the sludge had been pushed aside the throttle actuation was normal and it didn't enter limp mode.
