Hi doublebug! I am now running 5.6.1 firmware on my DICE. My VIDA setup is 2010D and is running on an XP virtual machine. Let me know the next steps, and thanks again for your knowledge and assistance. Much appreciated!

Actually for now you don't need VIDA installed. Even no need to have drivers for DICE.
So far I've tried USB Redirector that shares usb device via internet.
Currently I'm working on my own application that will share DICE on the higher level. That will speedup process greatly.
So to try you need to install trial version of USB Redirector.
Plus we need to do some time scheduling because my timezone is GMT+3.

If you have questions about Volvo firmware ask me. I may know an answer

OK, I've got the USB Redirector on my computer.
I am at GMT-5. I am willing to get up early or stay up late to do this since you I am the one who's benefiting.
The only times that would not be good for me are when I am at work or commuting. This would exclude 13:30 - 02:15 on weekdays in your time zone, or 10:30-23:15 GMT. Weekends I am totally flexible.
Do you have an estimate as to how long this would take to upload?
EDIT: PM sent.

read original will take about 10 minutes or faster depending on the internet speed (mostly reply time)
Writing new firmware should be faster.
Sent some additional contact details in PM.

the dem is married to the car therfore you cannot clear the codes these units can be rebuilt and reinstalled (the orginal one) also before doing so verify power and 2 grounds at the plug than disconect battery and take ohm reading at the plug between the green and white can wires you should have 61 ohms very important if not you most likley have a bad harness to the dem very common and available sepertly at dealer good luck volvo doc

I am having the same issue with my 2006 xc90. It has 111000km and it goes fine, but the antiskid service rewuired light comes on when i go over a bump. Occasionally it is there also on startup. The dealer has just tried to reload the DEM software, but it did not work. First bump in the road, the warning came back on. Here in south africa the roads can get v bumpy.
Anyway,an indy mechanic tried to get the codes, but he could not. It said "unable to communicate with 4WD.
The dealership has suggested that I try replacing the DEM, but has warned they cannot gaurantee it will work. At ZAR 20k this would be a very expensive experiment. This thread has got me thinking it might. Be the AOC pump, but I am not technically adept, so am lost. Any advice would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

Does anyone know if Hommegrenouille replaced the pump or the software on the DEM took care of it? Via PM found out his problem ended up being the pump.
