Is there an alternative to the bolt that IPD sells to install wheels? I want one but they're charging $20 for it and it seems a little steep for a simple bolt.

Just go down to your local bolt seller and ask for a long (80mm plus) M14 X 1.5 pitch bolt and just cut off the head with a hacksaw, round off the burs with a file and presto!! If you want some extra grip on the end you could squeeze the last inch with a metal jawed vice (these often have serrated teeth and will leave a pattern around the end)
It would be good to debur the end and round it off with a bench grinder so the wheel slips on to the stud.
Costs about $1

M14 is the correct size for the P2 series. Thread pitch was altered with the newer cars. IPD sell these because in 2002 the small guide nipple was replaced with a 10mm bolt making it almost impossible to line up the holes without the wheel falling back off, especially where there is a kerb involved and the vehicle is leaning.800artfreed wrote:I believe on an S70 1998 it is a M12 (don't know pitch) X 80mm. the M14 is certainly too big as I just tried it.
If you have the guide nipple it's far easier but still a chore
