1999 S80 Heater hose replacement part not fitting.
So there is a large crack on the fitting to the firewall on the heater hoses for the heater core. I bought a new one from Bap Geon, much cheaper than the dealership. The part attaching to the firewall is TOTALLY different in diameter and depth??? Is it supposed to fit on there? Do I have to change the nozzle it attaches to? Neither the dealership nor the parts people at Bap geon could answer the question? Thank you all. I am posting pictures of the new and old. The hose with the yellow is the original hose. You have to buy the whole entire thing hose attached to the coupling together, not separate. Advanced Auto sold me just the hose, which would have been fine if that was the part leaking. The coupling, or elbow as I call it was what had the crack in it.

I would tell you to go to the dealer and buy an OEM hose or if you can wait a few days source it from one of the site sponsors, but buy an OEM hose.
This problem has been popping up more frequently on this Board, across models, and the problem is the same - the cheap hoses DO NOT fit. The hoses last 10-15 years so even if it was a $100 more, which it is not, that is less than $10/year not to have a leaking problem which can take out your engine. Volvo has a unique fitting -- and the cheap brands just don't seem to seal.
Maybe someone can chime it on brands that fit and seal correctly that are not OEM.

I replaced both of them with the after market brand ( 7 years apart ) and they are fitted fine,no leak, the second one is URO brand, the first one didn’t remember probably made from the same company. Both of them are having different part numbers, lengths, and shapes, the one that heated coolant go into the heater core ( red arrow ) is longer than the one that coolant exit from the heater core ( blue arrow)...
