I am having a problem with low boost I can not seem to fix, I am getting at most 9lbs. I have a 97 GLT but I happened to come across a 95 turbo ECU so I plopped that in hoping it would spruce up my boost pressure, and to no avail (although the car is faster, still low boost pressure). I have tried everything from tightening the wastegate to eliminating the TCV altogether. I can not find the source of my low boost pressure. ANY advice will be helpful. (my current wastegate is off of a newer xcv70 since mine had been spun at some point and was no longer operating properly)
Thanks
Josh

I'm not quite sure about the 850 specifics, how much boost is an 95 turbo supposed to run? It may only be 8lbs of boost.

A GLT is a low-pressure turbo, so 8 is correct. If everything is Stage 0, I'd run a manual boost controller, but be warned: it's not if you'll blow your engine but when. Your 850's engine was not made for much more than 8 pounds boost. Yes, there is some margin, but with a nearly 18-year-old engine, anything can happen.
