2008 S60 Crank Sensor Replacement

I would like to locate and replace the crankshaft position sensor on my 2008 S60 2.5T. I have no check engine light but frequently have had starting problems over the last month, especially when it is cold. During troubled starting the tach will jump all over.

It is located on top of the transmission, close to engine block, as shown in this video.

Thank You DGM. Finally got the car in out of the weather. We are having a bit of winter here in Buffalo, NY USA. I will attempt this repair as soon as I'm finished plowing and let you know if it solves my troubles.

Just an expansion on this repair:
While changing the crank sensor on Sunday I discovered that the insulation was missing on both wires prior to entering the molded plug. I placed a dollop of RTV silicone in between and the car started immediately. However, this morning with the temperature below 0 degrees fahrenheit the car refused to start with the tachometer jumping all over the spectrum. I heated the crank sensor with an electric heat gun and the car started begrudgingly. I will now replace the $70 sensor and report back.

Any advice on checking injector pulse ?

I'm having a very similar problem with my 08 s60. I've replaced plugs and coils and would throw no code when it had trouble starting. When i did finally start the car was in reduced performance mode. I was able to catch the fault code from this ride and it came up with p0727. I'm hoping that the crank sensor replacement will solve my issues. If not I've heard a deep seafoam clean works wonders too.
