1995 960 Engine Replacment Combatibility

Post by mortgagemark1964 »

Hello out there , can some one please tell me what my options are if I have a blown engine or blow head gasket in terms of getting the parts and or whole engine for my 960 1995 Volvo, IE: what year Volvo should I be looking at, just 960 Volvo's from 1995 OR ? can I plop and S40 or something faster in there. Not that the 960 is slow by any means, Top End and Mid Range is Good and Take off is safe for sure. As my wife points out I am not a Mechanic but I can tell you anything you want to know about Real Estate Finance both Residential or Commercial so don't hesitate if I can help you in any way.

But go easy on me as far as mechanics. I don't know how to install the electronics piece of an engine install so I would want a referral to a pro.

I am also an Army Veteran and love to help others Veterans.

Sincerely

Mark L Kelley

96-98 are a drop in with engine wiring harness changed and moving the rear cylinder temp sensor from your existing engine to the screw in plugged hole on back of the later engine head.
Oh, you also will need to move over the intake and exhaust with EGR valve to the new engine.

Installation of other engines is a major fabrication deal. The Oil pan will have to be custom made as well as engine mount bracketry. A/C hose to compressor will have to be custom as well as lower radiator hose connection.
