2005 xc90 code 0503 speed sensor

I've just fitted a nsr wheel bearing complete with hub and now have electrical issues. I test drove the xc90 2.5 petrol awd and the speedo stopped then the abs light came on then the battery light came on and it stopped charging and after a while cut out. The warning triangle went to red and a display of brake fault came on So far I have tried to clean the nsr abs sensor as I am convinced it must be something ive done a code of p0503 speed sensor came up which I've cleared several times but have still got the same faults I believe that the speed sensor ring is on the front cv joints and I assume that like with all vehicles once you change a hub with abs sensor that after driving it picks up the signal and works. Do xc90s require an abs sensor to be programmed the wiring diagram off auto data shows the abs pick up going to the abs module which also has a connection to the alternator hence the charging fault. HELP!
