2002 S80 misfiring, alot.

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

2002 S80 misfiring, alot.

Post by jazz2561 »

How y'all doin (had to get country for a sec) I have a 2002 S80 t6 that me, my brother, and a friend of mine had recently replaced the inlet heater hose. After we were done reassembling the car, I tried starting the car. Nothing happened. SO, we jumped the car and it started with a terrible misfire at idle. I even tried pressing on the throttle at idea and the car just shut off. No warning, reason why, just shut the hell off. Can anyone please explain to me why is it doing this. I really don't feel like pulling the fuel rail and checking the injectors. College students shouldn't have these problems.

Probably dislodged a vacuum hose or maybe some wiring has become disconnected, like the O2 sensors back near the firewall whilst working on the heater hose.

Ok I got the car started when I had it hooked but to jumper cables, but even then it will start up, run for two or three seconds, start misfiring and just shut off. So my friend unhooked the jumper cables and my lights went dim. I tried starting the car and it wont start, I just hear clicking.

Check condition of your battery cables and the ground connection to the bodywork.
