My S70 GLT has been greeting me with the Diesel sound on startup during these cold mornings.
Car has 212K miles, I use Pennzoil full synthetic ~ 5000 miles.
Did the SeaFoam treatment 2 days ago (6 oz in gas tank, 5 oz in engine oil, 5 oz sucked in at vacuum tee). However, I just kept the engine running after sucking into vacuum, drove 5+ miles before realizing I was supposed to let it sit & soak. Then I waited 5 minutes & gave it another good 5+ mile drive putting my foot into it several times before coming home & changing the oil.
The only time I really saw smoke out the tailpipe (and some around the turbo/or exhaust side) was while ingesting the SeaFoam.
This morning I was greeted with the Diesel sound again at startup. It does go away once engine is warm.
Should I do the SeaFoam treatment again at the next oil change (probably at 215K miles, so just under 3000 miles)?
Just wondering if the Diesel sound is intake valves or what, and is SeaFoam the cure?

You can certainly redo the Seafoam through the vac tree over again with no problems.

After the idle settles down, let it run for several minutes, then drive it for at least 50 miles,, not 5 minutes, THEN change the oil.

I can see the crankcase Seafoam needed the oil change, just wondering if the stuff going through the vacuum lines mostly goes into the cylinders & gets burned up in the combustion.

Why are you adding paint thinner (2) and alcohol (3) to your oil, and oil (1) to your gasoline?
If you've lowered the motor oil's viscosity (thinner and alcohol), why would you want to run it under load for 50 miles?
Isn't burning oil what cokes up a combustion chamber in the first place?
Have you identified and verified what is causing the "diesel sound," or just hoping for a "miracle in a bottle"?
If the sound is due to coking, what is causing the coking in the first place?
How does one determine where the post-Seafoam tailpipe smoke is coming from?
Bad piston rings and valve guides lead to smoky pipes, so would that indicate the combustion chamber is de-coking?
I've removed a couple of coked pistons, soaked one in Seafoam for a day, then tried a brass brush on half of each and heat (propane torch) on the other half, and the only difference Seafoam made was in lightening my wallet.
