Since I have installed my used tranny, I have changed the fluid twice. So it had fresh fluid in it when installed, I changed the fluid at about 5,000 miles, then again at about 25,000 miles after that. It has progressively gotten cleaner. I'm going to change it again in about 5,000 miles which will be another 25,000 after the last fluid change.

I'd like to also mention that I towed a trailer about 640 miles through the hills of TN about 7,000 miles ago. No issues at all. My guess is that the trailer weighed about 1,800 loaded, not to mention the loaded down car.

Oh, it should never shift hard. Your tranny mount may be worn.

When the car shifts at 5,6k rpms it is rough but usually pretty stable. Especially if I use premium

Mine - and other 850s I've driven - has always shifted rough at anything over 4k. I would consider that pretty normal - lotta power to transfer around.
