02 S80 Need to reset VVT when only replacing timing belt?
Hi, I'm planning to do the timing belt replacement on a 02 S80. Just wonder if I need to reset the VVT? I am gonna replace the timing belt, tensioner, water pump, idler. Thank you for any input.

No. As long as the gears/cvvt units are not removed the timing relationship of those is not affected.
The cam gears should be marked to your satisfaction. The factory marks are not dead on accurate and often are hard to see. Since the marks can be off as much as a half tooth it is easy to put it back together and forget whether the mark was off to the left or the right. Paint or Sharpie marks of your own solves that panic.
