Recently I noticed that the unit that mounts the turn signal, wiper control and wheel lock rotates a bit. I can move it back and forth a small amount. Took the plastic covers off and do not see any screws of bolts that might be loose. There is a steel tube that contains the steering shaft that the switch/lock housing seems to slide over. The tube does not rotate. It is almost like there is a notch in that tube that might engage the housing that is a bit loose. The steering is not effected, only the stalks for the turn and WW control move a bit. Has anyone been in there and seen the details?

When you have the plastic shroud off, if you look under the steering column there are 2 sheer bolts that keep the column in place. I had the problem where the 2 bolts had worked loose so the column could move. Had to drill the bolts out, and replace the 2 shear bolts. Try gripping the steering wheel and see if the column moves when you turn the wheel.

Thanks, I'll check it out. The column and steering wheel are solid side to side, up and down, etc. When I had the cover off and rotated the switch housing nothing solidly bolted seemed to move. The turn signal a WW wands move up and down about 10mm.
