1995 850 Climate control blower motor issues

Post by wheelsup »

Hey all

I have a '95 with the auto climate control. Over the past couple years my blower motor started making squeaking noises when running especially when cold. Then one day it stopped working. Shut car off and turned it back on and it worked again. Went like that for a month or two till I replaced it with an aftermarket TYC unit.

That was last June. Everything has been great until last week when I turned on my blower and...nothing. Drove to my destination and returned, and it started working again!

So issue is intermittent blower motor. However everything was fine after replacing with a new one until last week. Wondering if this sounds like a resistor issue or if the "new" blower motor is bad again.

I would put 12v on it to see if it works. If not, I'd swap the resistor.
