98 V70 OBD scanner

I'm in the market for an OBDII scanner but I only have been approved for $60. I'd love to hear your recommendations.

I scored the cheap non- plotting autel off fleabay for about 20 bucks once.

Is your RFQ on a cost plus basis or FFP?

I like the little Autel also, I keep one that I lend out. He could get both the vag-com cable and the autel for $32 and spend the remaining $28 on liquor. That's an all-around win.

LOL! I was actually looking at the autel on amazon. Which one do you have? Fleabay is always a gamble. As far as the liquor, I'll bring that you next trip MI!

FWIW I had issues with the Torque app and the bluetooth connect OBD2 device (ELM something) on the '99 V70 I had. No idea how it would work with the '98. Ironically it works great on my '95 which isn't even an official OBD2 car.

I'm not quite sure how the Vol-Fcr works. I have a copy of VADIS somewhere do you use it with that?

I downloaded, well thought I did, VADIS and all I got was a crap load of computer viruses that play and place adds when I get on the internet.

Can somebody please post up a link for a decent vag-com cable? There are a thousand on eBay, I don't want to get a crappy one or get suckered into overpaying ...
