here's an old crash test video of a Volvo 740 crashing into a small Opel Hatchback. The crumple zone of the Opel does not help decelerating the 110 km/h Volvo, and the axle distance of that small car has been reduced to 90 cm. (the video frames the Opel. It is so compressed that 300 cms of the Volvo wagon's total length(485 cm) appears in the frame....
Meanwhile, only the engine bay of the Volvo is compromised.
