1997 850 NA - Replace trailing arm bushing

Post by dejongmc »

Hello,

I want to replace the rear trailing arm bushings, left and right.
This part: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo- ... 96-3516497

I have a hard time finding a good write-up how to do this.

Any help is welcome.

Thanks,

Haynes actually has a pretty good procedure. You need to scribe a mark on the delta link at the bolt head to get a point to line back up to. Even then, you will really need to get a 4 wheel alignment when you are done.

Thanks. I found it in the Haynes manual.

This leads me to my next question: What are good supporting points to lift both rear wheels at the same time?

If you trust your "Haynes" , It has a suggestion.

There are several places that do not hold sprung weight in the rear. I will not approve of some of my own.

The rear suspension is in my to-dos, delta link and transverse anchorage bushing, this would get started https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=60212... and https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=23893
