98 s70 replace grille badge?

Post by AVIP »

Hey, I have seen some people driving around s70s with the newer Volvo logo badge on the front. Looks to be a cheap upgrade. I have the chrome grill with the black and white logo. What would be the process on replacing it? Replace the whole grill or just the badge?

You can get a sticker for the badge, which is what I did.

Be advised - The new Blue logo is a slightly different shape than the old Black one.
I just swapped out the entire grill with a newer C/XC grill - More Purtier!

Actually just bought some nice Volvo things from Dave Barton. Great site :D

What model would I look to get the grill from for my 98? I saw them for sale but wasn't sure how to remove mine/if it was the same as the ones for sale

Hey AVIP,

The hood is the same for 98 through 2000. Before that the 850 hood is flatter and after that the S70 doesn't exist. As others have said, the XC grill is also an exact fit. Removing the grill is a piece of cake. Open your hood and stand under it with you back to the car. Look up at the back side of the grill and you will see 6 little black tabs that snap onto little nubs attached to the grill. Simply push them over and remove. Be careful not to drop them.

'99-'00 XC and '99(?) -'04 C70 share the Blue logo eggcrate.
Find a nice one and it will drop right in. EZ upgrade.
