On the front axle shaft I do not see a c-clip as is present on the 850 axle shaft? How do I remove the end of the axle shaft to replace the outer boot on the c70? Any help is greatly appreciated as I am posting this for my dad, he has no computer access where he is doing the repair.

There MUST be one,except it is rotated during some previous install and it's hidden into the groove.
There is a chance that somebody before needed to replace the boot or cv joint and it didn't put it back.
