1998, S70, Basic - Fuel filler nozzle clicks off quickly

Post by Free2Nap »

Hi,

New to the forum, and am pleased with what I've read already in searching for info on my problem. I've not searched for the problem as I just titled it though, so will do so. At any rate, I'm not unfamiliar with DIY activities on cars, but not particularly fond of it anymore. Just acquired this ride from my 92 yo mother-in-law, who gave up driving gracefully.

Will be doing some much needed checking and maintenance not routinely done by the dealer on schedule. This car is 16 years old, but has just under 50k miles on it. But, it's never been garaged, and lived out in the sun in Napa CA. I suspect there are alot of rubber parts that need attention.

I'll see what I can find on my re-thought problem descrip, and be back. I like what I've seen in the threads I've read already.

Thanks,

Found good leads under my modified search parameters. Dated back to 2004 and 2011. I know where to start my investigation now - Charcoal Canister, then Evap Control Valve, then try filling with each disconnected. If no resolution, check the metal lines for damage.

Great info here. Thanks,

Mark
