Manual says remove dipstick tube...
... But nothing says how. I've got the oil pan out and still can't figure out how to remove the tube. Is it just one of those "pull real hard" things?

12mm bolt facing up (vertically) screwed into the inlet manifold. Using a mirror may help to locate it however just follow the dipstick tube with your hand and you'll feel the bolt head.

It's not out yet. Just seeing what all is involved in putting it back in. As it is, the pan is dropped and it may not get removed from the pan, but it is awkward.jimmy57 wrote:We are talking bout the engine oil pan dipstick aren't we?
Once it is out and you use a new seal it slides in with about 3 ounces of force.
So, I would need a new o-ring for the tube and cuould put it back in after I put the pan back up?
you should really use a new o-ring. I had the same problem, I couldn't take the dipstick tube out. I finally got it out by trying to push from under the car instead of pulling from above. I guess you just need to apply enough force in the right direction.
