Please post a few photos of your "exposed" wires so we can help.

If not already done, check/replace spark plugs, most people here use Bosch copper ($2.20/each at local parts store). Info in forum.

This is what it should look like. You may want to remove the black wire (probably someone tried to install a tachometer), then use heat-shrinkable tubing to seal the blue wire.

Another option is junk yard ignition coil, which goes for about $10 at Pick and Pull places...

I forgot to mention that as a test, get a spray bottle.

Run the engine, then spray a very gentle mist at the blue wire, if the engine stumbles, then you just made the diagnosis. Just don't touch any high-tension wire when the engine is running. These HT wires carry some 48,000 Volts!!!

It has an aftermarket remote start installed by the PO, but hasn't worked since I've owned it.

I would probably get rid of any of the non functioning parts and try to start from the OEM standpoint.
Electronics are fickle on these cars. I have come to find that myself.
