Hi, thanks you in advance. Changing rear pads and rotors and parking pads and spring on 2003 XC70. Everything going find EXCEPT one rotor now hung up on parking brake shoes as I pull it off. It's loose. It is just catching on the pads. Should I release park brake cable at wheel? How? What would the pro shop do? Stuck in Maine.
Thanks
Dan

I had the same problem and one of the circular springs that holds the handbrake shoe had been broken off so i pushed the disc in different directions before it finally became loose.jibsout237 wrote:Got it off!!
Remember that the circular springs should be pushed in and then moved sideways when remove them.
They should not be turned a quarter of a full turn as on many other cars.
(I borrowed the pic from another forum)

same here, rotor stuck because of rust. It's worth loosening a bit the adjusting nut near the handbrake lever inside the vehicle (remove the trim at the bottom of the lever).
