2000 S70: REPAIR HISTORY AND EXTENDED WARRANTY INFO

My 2000 S70 with 35,000 miles is about to end factory waranty. Dealer has presented me with Wynn's Extended Care for 6years/100,000 miles at a cost of $2074. Plan does not approve OEM parts and there are some exclusions. Dealer is tha largest on east coast and has superb customer service.

Does anyone have experience with Wynn's. Do you know the repair history of my car? I know that if repairs are needed to a Volvo it can be costly. I'd appreciate any input. Thank you.

Any warranty that does not honor oem parts is for the birds!

Be VERY careful with exclusions our '99 S-70 has had numerous sensors and computer chips "fail: once it went out of warranty. The 3rd party warranty we obtained on-line does cover the repairs but does involve some overhead.

If we had to do it over again we would not have purchased a Volvo. Their reputation as a customer oriented company is mostly P.R. hype.

For 2 grand it should cover almost everything (except normal consumables like brakes and service items) with OEM parts. I would stay away from this deal.

Check with your auto insurance agent, they shluld have a better deal. Or for $2K self insure...
