I have considered changing my '01 XC to manual. Not yet convinced I can pull it off at the right price given the gearboxes are rare here. The other thing I don't yet know about is whether the clutch operation is light enough for traffic snarls without leaving you wanting for a Red Bull after 20 minutes of clutch shuffling.
That's another topic though

Perhaps the TCM's faulty and needs to be manually shifted with the geartronic. That qualifies it as being manual doesn't it?? ......after all this car IS from a dealer. ( no offense meant to the reputable ones of course)

Thanks JRL. I drove a S60 T5 manual that a friend owns with only about 80k miles (original clutch) and it wasn't feather light for me so I was wondering if this is typical. However it was lighter than my manual Mitsubishi Magna (Diamante) from afew years back which was a cable clutch.
