96 855 Platinum - 186K
New:
-Entire front suspension with OE parts
-Front 302mm rotors with Akebono Euro Ceramic pads
-Rear Nivomats
-OE Rear Transverse arm bushings (connects the two delta links)
-Rear rotors and Akebono Euro Ceramic pads
-Volvo "half" pad shims in the rear to quell vibrations
-Brand new 17" Pegasus wheels with Michelin Tires. No bends, no road force issues. Perfect balance.
Symptoms:
-The rear end vibrates under braking at high speed on the highway (75+)
-When traveling with four total passengers, there was a constant vibration in the rear even at 40-50mph. Without passengers, no vibration.
Does this sound like a delta link bushing issue? Do I check for vertical play in the bushing to know if it's shot, or side-to-side? Hoping to rent the tool if they're possibly the culprit.
Thanks!

we recently changed our links on the 94 850. Remove the three bolt skid plate then with a pry bar look for slop. It made a night and day difference on our 850. If you need the Volvo tool let me know.

Thank you for the offer, I might take you up on that once I verify that's my problem!
What were your symptoms prior to replacement?
Thanks.
Alex

You can actually see the slop as you jack the car up. Set the jack up under the link and jack it up while watching the link itself. A good link will go up with the chassis, a bad link will drop down (as much as an inch or so) as you jack the car up.

Interesting, so the vertical play is how these fail then?
Mine look terrible, but with the car sitting on the ground, feel pretty tight with the prybar I use to check for bushing issues. I'll do the jack method and report back.
