1998 S70GLT: codes P0107, P01308 & P0452

Post by macs70GLT »

I removed and disassembled the MAP sensor (altitude sensor) per a post thread to correct code P0108.

Either by my poor soldering skills, or perhaps I fried the MAP; anyway the car now throws codes P0107, P01308 & P0452.

I read a few threads about P0107 being tied to the ECU, perhaps air cond etc. In my case I'm sure it's related to my attempted repair.

The plan is to find a used MAP & hopefully clear these codes.

On a side note, I started the car without the MAP installed (not the brightest thing I've done) in case I needed to go somewhere.

Anyway, I cannot get these codes to clear, even momentarily - I see the CEL blink, but the codes remain. Even disconnected the battery for 2 hours last night - codes returned immediately!

Car seems to drive ok; did I do more damage than just to the MAP sensor?!?

Thanks

Hi - still driving with the broken MAP.

Codes can't be cleared with my OBD II, and immediately return if cleared by disconnecting the battery.

Am I risking damage to the ECU or anything else??

The air cond is not cooling - I know it's related to the MAP in some way.

Won't get the replacement MAP until Thursday.

All responses appreciated.

Thanks

Mike

Bought a replacement MAP on Amazon for $90 plus shipping etc.

Replaced the one I tried to repair - and cleared codes P0107, P1308 & P0452.

I'm relieved to report the codes have not returned!

From what I've read in the forum its rare for a MAP to fail - in my case it was user error from a botched repair attempt ...

I must have shorted something in the sensor when I tried to resolder the connections because I could not clear the codes with my OBD II reader. They returned immediately.
