There is a thread around here somewhere that discusses checking of solenoid electrical resistances to find out which solenoid is at fault. EDIT: p0733 is an error for the 3rd speed ratio.

Continue to clear the code, do not drive it from a stop unless you have to. Be like me and keep the code reader under the seat, always ready.

As for the tranny, L will always give you 1st gear unless you are over 25mph when you move from 3 to L. If you start off in L, it will not shift to 2. If you are at 30mph and shift to L, 2nd should engage until your speed drops to 25.
In the 1998 cars, engaging the "S" will cause the tranny to shift to 2 from 3 when shifting to L - it stays in 2 until the car stops, and then shifts to 1. Engaging "E" will cause the tranny to act like an 850.

Hi Guys, My problem is solved. I got a salvage ABS module from the boneyard. Installed the ABS module and a new econ/sport switch. ABS light cleared. Tracs light went out. Car now shifts smoothly in all gears in econ mode and sport mode. I do not know what part did away with the blinking arrow and P0733 and P0732, I am glad for them to be gone.

This evening I am going over to my neighbors ( carbon cow ) who has Vida and see what is going on with the SRS. So far pleased with this $400.00 850.

Thank you for all the help!

That explains a lot! The speedo signal goes through the ABS module and if there is a fault in the ABS module, then the tranny does not know how fast the car is going and cannot shift accordingly.

BTW, you never mentioned the ABS light being on. Or the SRS. In most cases, turning off the SRS light will do it. Remember, you cannot disconnect ANY airbag wiring if the battery is not disconnected, nor should you connect the battery if an SRS wire is already disconnected.
