Press the EASY BUTTON and find another T5M. They are really not that hard to find. Also, sell your motor to someone that needs it. They are getting hard to find.

Guys, I don't want to sell the motor because I want to use it. I'm simply asking what issues I could run into if I happen to find a non turbo car I can put it into.

Because you already have everything on your car, the swap shouldn't be that bad - to an NA car. You could drop the engine/trans/suspension as a unit, keep the exhaust/turbo/cat, move the wiring harness to the new body along with the computers. I would stick with 1997/1998 models because of the wiring. The 97-8 GLT cars have a lowpressure turbo, but you are going to move the intercooler anyway.

This would not be an easy drop in, but not terrible either. Punching a hole in the firewall for the clutch is not a big deal. I expect a week's worth of labor/love. The problem would be rust on older CT cars.

Take a lot of pictures!!!

The project of converting an N/A car to turbo has been covered on many forums
and the general consensus is to stick with a factory turbo car for a situation like
yours Whenever Possible. MUCH easier swap than transplanting ALL of the
things required from your turbo car. Do some searching - It's not a new topic.
Here, VolvoSpeed and SwedeSpeed - All good sources.

And the firewall opening is preplanned by the factory - Cake!

Best of Luck.

For every 1,000 times this comes up, it is probably actually followed through once. So let's not get to serious here.

So, what makes you think I'm not serious? I'm trying to gather my information because I most likely will be doing this. I'm really not asking too much, but I see I won't get answers here.

Some of these folks may think that you are 'converting' a non-turbo to a turbo, which is a no-no. You are doing a complete swap, which is totally different. Your biggest issue is going to be the wiring harness in the engine bay, which you want to swap into the donor car.

You also should look for an 850/70 with TRKS so the brake module wiring will not change.

If you don't get meaningful answers here, try Volvospeed.com Just watch out for the sarcastic remarks that some of them are known for. And good luck.
