fuel guage ,1997 v4o

:D hello ,my fuel guage has gone to zero ,i filled up yesterday did 60mile today and to electric fuel guage has dropped to empty .does anyone know how i can fix this. :?

The usual cause of this problem is the tank sender unit or the wiring from it. Fuel gauges rarely fail.

At one time the easiest way to check was to remove the wire from the sender unit, switch on the ignition and earth (ground) the wire. The gauge should then read 'full', falling to 'empty' when the wire was removed from earth. I'm not sure if this is still recommended practice in view of the complex electric/electronic systems installed.

I take it by the year of the car that you are not in the US. Find a good auto-electrician, not dealer based, and have them test it. It should only take about 15 minutes.
