99 s70 t5 Click from turn signal stalk- VIDEO

Post by speedyt5 »

Recently replaced the dash on my s70 t5. Put everything back together. There is now a clicking sound from the left turn signal stalk. When I loosen the stalk the sound goes away. Here is a video of me turning the steering wheel and showing the click. Anyone know what the deal is?

I haven't looked inside the stalk but I'm sure it's related the canceling pawl....the catch that turns the signals off after a turn. Are the signals functioning normally after you reassemble?

They are functioning normal. It's just that clicking sound when turning the wheel whether the signal is on or not. Do you think a new stalk would do it?

Looks like I'm going to have to take the steering wheel off again to figure out why it is catching, any ideas anyone?
