93 850 microswitch fixed but now car won't start

There are two cable that run from the shifter console.
The big one that runs through the fire wall to the trans
and operates the PNP and the tiny one that run up to
the ignition switch.
If the key turns and you can take it in and out of the ignition,
then the small cable is A-OK. If the car won't turn over ( no starter
rotation), try moving the shifter a bit to see if the PnP is wonky.
If the big cable got out of adjustment, that may be your problem.

I can turn the key and remove it from the ignition switch. I only saw (and touched) the one cable. So you are thinking I may have changed the big cable so it's now out of adjustment?

Any tips on its adjustment? It looked like it had some red colored threadlock on the adjustment nut.

Should I wiggle the shifter while trying to turn the key to see if the starter will engage? Is there any risk of the car lurching if it starts?

Problem solved.
I charged the battery all day while at work but do not believe that contributed to the issue. I was thinking that tonight I was going to have to remove the console again and check connections and possibly adjust the cable. But first I reconnected the battery, inserted the key but did not attempt to start and ratcheted the shift lever from park to drive several times. Then I put it in park turned the key off. Then placed my foot on the brake, turned the key and the engine started. The shifter worked fine without having to use the over ride button. Repair successful!

I believe that when I moved the cable, it may not have reseated properly so ratcheting the gearshift lever may have returned it to its original position.
